The contains a range of measures on patenting that will affect public health. The Intellectual Property Policy of the Republic of South Africa Phase I is now available on the Department of Trade and Industry website here. The new policy addresses numerous core issues with an impact on public health, such as patentability criteria, parallel importation, disclosure requirements, exceptions, the Bolar amendment, and research.
